ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Fairbanks, just the one word.
A migrant Australian, who writes.
All Australians are migrants, or descendants of ‘recent’ migrants,
Except the true Australians, the Aborigine.
Fifty years in the land of Oz
Fed a once young man, now an aged retiree,
A feast of unique perspectives and experiences.
A career of teaching with literally thousands of students young and not so young;
Eccentric lifestyle, a bit ‘on the fringe’ and off the grid;
Always a closeness to Nature and the Land;
A lifetime of observing, absorbing, reflecting and pondering.
Always Music, as a participant and as a devoted listener.
Odd things, like opal mining, amateur theatre and many school productions,
Aboriginal ceremony and cultural experiences, TV quiz show contestant,
A remote tourist campground, a quaint little cottage on the shores of an Outback lake.
Tragedies: bushfire! from which I escaped with my life and a carload of worldly possessions,
Suicide death of my best mate; victim of thieves more than once;
‘Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera’ said a King of Siam.
Beauties abounding! Joys! Wonders and marvels galore!
A life well-lived and appreciated all along the Path.
Fairbanks, just the one word.
Author, storyteller, eccentric.
